Doozy vs Hermes Agent
Hermes Agent is a strong personal agent for an engineer who wants to run their own, on their own hardware, with any model and a memory that grows. Doozy is the managed coworker for a whole team's Slack, with isolation, per-tool switches and an audit log built in and nobody on call.
Hermes Agent, in their words: Nous Research's open-source, MIT-licensed 'self-improving' personal agent, run on your own machine or server with any model, reachable from Slack, Telegram, Discord, WhatsApp and the terminal.
Pick Doozy if
- The whole team should be able to ask it, from Slack, with no one running a server.
- Whoever approves access wants each task isolated, credentials held outside the agent and a switch per tool, without building that yourself.
- A non-technical lead has to be able to set it up and keep it healthy.
- You want one monthly price that includes the AI, and a free trial before it.
Pick Hermes Agent if
- You're an engineer who wants your own agent, on your own machine or a cheap VPS, under your control.
- You want to pick from hundreds of models, or run a local one, and switch at will.
- You want an agent that writes its own skills and remembers you across sessions, and you'll tend it.
- It's for you, or a few technical people, not for the support or sales team.

| What | Doozy | Hermes Agent |
|---|---|---|
| Price | DoozyFrom $39 a month (₹3,299 in India) for the whole workspace. Four plan sizes, each a monthly usage allowance shown as a share; no seats, no credits. | Hermes AgentFree and open source, MIT licence. You pay for the machine it runs on (their site says it runs on a $5 VPS or a GPU cluster), for model tokens, and in the time of whoever keeps it running. Third parties sell hosted versions. |
| Free trial | Doozy14 days free, no card. Nothing is billed until an owner picks a plan. | Hermes AgentFree to install. |
| Where it works | DoozySlack. Microsoft Teams and WhatsApp are not available. | Hermes AgentYour own machine or server; one gateway process serves Slack, Telegram, Discord, WhatsApp, Signal, email and the command line. |
| Setup | DoozySelf-serve by whoever owns the Slack workspace: add the app, connect tools from the browser, mention @Doozy. No engineer, no server, no pasted keys. | Hermes AgentA one-line installer on Linux, macOS, WSL2 or Windows, then 'hermes setup' and a gateway setup for each chat platform, including creating the Slack app yourself. Needs a model key or a Nous Portal subscription. |
| AI model | DoozyDoozy's AI, included in every plan. Paid plans can bring their own key from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or DeepSeek. | Hermes AgentAny model: Nous Portal, OpenRouter, OpenAI, your own endpoint and others, switched with one command. |
| Integrations | DoozySlack, GitHub, Postgres, WooCommerce and the web built in; ready-made connectors for Linear, Jira, Asana, Notion, Sentry, Supabase, Vercel, PostHog, Stripe, HubSpot, Intercom and Zapier; any other MCP server. | Hermes AgentWhatever you connect and configure, including MCP servers and skills in the agentskills.io format. |
| Safety | DoozyEach task runs in its own isolated sandbox; credentials stay outside it. Every tool has a switch, and tools that delete or overwrite start off. On GitHub it opens pull requests but can't merge or push to main. Every action is on an audit log. | Hermes AgentSix terminal backends (local, Docker, SSH, Modal, Daytona, Vercel Sandbox), and docs on command approval, DM pairing and container isolation. One operator's agent with the access that operator gives it; per-tool permissions for a team and an audit log are yours to build. |
| Memory and ways of working | DoozyRemembers facts about the business in a Vault people can read and edit, and follows written ways of working (Skills) the team gives it. | Hermes AgentAgent-curated memory, search across sessions, user modelling, and skills it writes itself after complex tasks. |
| Compliance | DoozyNo SOC 2 report yet. The Security and Sub-processors pages say exactly what runs where; Enterprise adds a DPA, SSO and audit-log export by contract. | Hermes AgentNone to speak of; it runs where you run it. |

What people hand Doozy
The same coworker, for every team in the Slack. One page per team, with the asks that work today.
- For support teamsThe queue is the job, and the week's story about it is the other job.
- For operations teamsA dozen tools, none of which talk to each other, and you in the middle.
- For foundersYou need the answer now and there is no one to hand it to.
- For engineering teamsYou would rather build than chase errors and tickets.
- For sales teamsYou live in the CRM and hate filling it in.
Questions people ask about Doozy and Hermes Agent
- Is Doozy a Hermes Agent alternative?
- For a team in Slack, yes. Hermes is one person's agent that happens to answer in Slack; Doozy is one coworker for everyone in the workspace, with permissions an admin sets in a web app. For an engineer's own agent on their own machine, Hermes is the better fit and Doozy isn't trying to be that.
- Can Doozy run on my own model like Hermes can?
- Partly. Doozy's AI is included, and any paid plan can bring its own key from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or DeepSeek and pick one model. It can't run a local model or an arbitrary endpoint; Hermes can.
- Why pay for Doozy when Hermes Agent is free?
- For a team, the cost of Hermes is the server, the model tokens and an engineer's time to set up Slack, isolation, permissions and upkeep. Doozy includes those: the AI, a sandbox per task, credentials outside it, a switch per tool and an audit log, for one price a month, set up by a non-technical owner.
