What Doozy can do in Google Drive

Doozy searches Drive, reads files and creates files and folders. Deleting, sharing and changing who can see a file start off. You approve Doozy on Google's own sign-in screen, with no keys to paste, and each tool has a switch in Doozy.

  • Search files and folders by name, type, owner or words, including shared drives
  • Read and export files, including Docs, Sheets and Slides
  • Read a file's comments, revisions and who it's shared with
  • Create files and folders, and upload files
  • Move, copy, rename and update files
  • Comment on a file

Things people ask

In a thread, after @Doozy. It answers in that thread, with what it did.

  • @Doozy where's the signed contract for Acme? Link it here.

  • @Doozy what does the onboarding checklist in the Ops folder say about laptop setup?

  • @Doozy save this thread as a doc in the Meeting notes folder.

  • @Doozy every Friday at 5, list the files added to the Clients folder this week.

How to connect Google Drive

No keys to paste: Google Drive asks you to approve Doozy, the way it does for any app, and you can revoke that there any time.

  1. 1

Add Doozy to your Slack and open the Integrations page in the web app.

  2. 2

Pick Google Drive and click Connect. Google's own sign-in asks you to approve Doozy.

  3. 3

Choose which of its tools Doozy may use, and mention @Doozy in a thread.

What stays off, and what's always true

Doozy works like a teammate, so it doesn't stop to ask. You decide what it can reach.

Off until you say so

  • Deleting files and folders, emptying the trash
  • Sharing a file and changing who can see it

Always

  • Every task runs in its own isolated workspace. Credentials stay outside it.
  • Every tool has a switch. Tools that delete or overwrite start off.
  • Every action it takes is on the audit log, with who asked and what happened.
  • Owners and admins connect tools and choose switches. Members can only look.

Works well with

One ask often crosses tools: a Sentry error becomes a GitHub pull request and a Linear issue. Doozy uses whichever it needs.

Questions people ask before they connect Google Drive

Which files can Doozy see?
The ones the connected Google account can see, including shared drives it belongs to. Nothing outside that account's access.
Can it share a file with someone?
Not unless an admin turns that on. Sharing and changing permissions start switched off, along with deleting.
Do I need Google Docs and Sheets connected too?
Drive alone finds, reads and creates files. Connect Docs or Sheets as well when you want Doozy to edit inside a document or work with spreadsheet rows and charts.
Can Doozy see our Google Drive credentials?
No. Every task runs in its own isolated workspace, and credentials stay outside it: they're added to each call on its way out. Nothing it reads or writes there can expose a key.
Will it change things in Google Drive without asking?
It works like a teammate, so it doesn't stop to ask, and you decide what it can reach. Tools that delete or overwrite start switched off, you can switch off any other, and every action it takes is on the audit log with who asked.
Who can connect it?
Owners and admins of your Doozy workspace. Members see what's connected and can't change it. Everyone in your Slack can ask Doozy once it's connected.
What does it cost?
Nothing extra. Every integration is included on every plan, and the 14-day trial needs no card.
