What Doozy can do in Harvest

Doozy reads time entries, projects, invoices and expenses and logs time when you ask. Payments, deleting and user changes start off. You approve Doozy on Harvest's own sign-in screen, with no keys to paste, and each tool has a switch in Doozy.

  • Read time entries by person, project, client or date
  • Read projects, tasks, clients and their contacts
  • Read invoices, estimates, the payments on an invoice, and the messages sent about them
  • Log time, or fix a time entry
  • Create and update clients, projects and tasks
  • Draft and update invoices and estimates, and log expenses

Things people ask

In a thread, after @Doozy. It answers in that thread, with what it did.

  • @Doozy log 2 hours on the Acme redesign, Design task, for today.

  • @Doozy how many hours has the team put into the Globex project this month, by person?

  • @Doozy draft an invoice for Acme from this month's billable hours.

  • @Doozy every Friday at 4, post who hasn't logged time this week.

How to connect Harvest

No keys to paste: Harvest asks you to approve Doozy, the way it does for any app, and you can revoke that there any time.

  1. 1

Add Doozy to your Slack and open the Integrations page in the web app.

  2. 2

Pick Harvest and click Connect. Harvest's own sign-in asks you to approve Doozy.

  3. 3

Choose which of its tools Doozy may use, and mention @Doozy in a thread.

What stays off, and what's always true

Doozy works like a teammate, so it doesn't stop to ask. You decide what it can reach.

Off until you say so

  • Sending invoices and estimates to clients, and recording invoice payments
  • Deleting time entries, projects, clients, invoices and estimates
  • Adding, changing or removing users, and changing company settings

Always

  • Every task runs in its own isolated workspace. Credentials stay outside it.
  • Every tool has a switch. Tools that delete or overwrite start off.
  • Every action it takes is on the audit log, with who asked and what happened.
  • Owners and admins connect tools and choose switches. Members can only look.

One ask often crosses tools: a Sentry error becomes a GitHub pull request and a Linear issue. Doozy uses whichever it needs.

Questions people ask before they connect Harvest

Can Doozy send an invoice to a client?
Not unless an admin switches that tool on. Sending invoices and estimates starts off, so Doozy drafts the invoice and a person sends it from Harvest.
Can my team log time from Slack?
Yes. Ask Doozy and it logs the entry through the Harvest account that connected, so it can log time for teammates only if that account is allowed to in Harvest.
Can Doozy see our Harvest credentials?
No. Every task runs in its own isolated workspace, and credentials stay outside it: they're added to each call on its way out. Nothing it reads or writes there can expose a key.
Will it change things in Harvest without asking?
It works like a teammate, so it doesn't stop to ask, and you decide what it can reach. Tools that delete or overwrite start switched off, you can switch off any other, and every action it takes is on the audit log with who asked.
Who can connect it?
Owners and admins of your Doozy workspace. Members see what's connected and can't change it. Everyone in your Slack can ask Doozy once it's connected.
What does it cost?
Nothing extra. Every integration is included on every plan, and the 14-day trial needs no card.
