What Doozy can do in Google Analytics

Doozy runs reports and reads properties, audiences and custom definitions. Sending events and changing settings start off. You approve Doozy on Google's own sign-in screen, with no keys to paste, and each tool has a switch in Doozy.

  • Run GA4 reports on users, sessions, events and conversions, by any dimension
  • Run funnel, pivot and realtime reports
  • Read properties, data streams, key events, and custom dimensions and metrics
  • Read audiences, channel groups and linked Google Ads accounts
  • Create audience lists and exports

Things people ask

In a thread, after @Doozy. It answers in that thread, with what it did.

  • @Doozy where did last week's signups come from, by source and medium? Chart it.

  • @Doozy how many people are on the site right now, and on which pages?

  • @Doozy which landing pages converted best last month? Put them in a sheet with sessions and conversion rate.

  • @Doozy every Monday at 9, post last week's users, sessions and key events against the week before.

How to connect Google Analytics

No keys to paste: Google Analytics asks you to approve Doozy, the way it does for any app, and you can revoke that there any time.

  1. 1

Add Doozy to your Slack and open the Integrations page in the web app.

  2. 2

Pick Google Analytics and click Connect. Google's own sign-in asks you to approve Doozy.

  3. 3

Choose which of its tools Doozy may use, and mention @Doozy in a thread.

What stays off, and what's always true

Doozy works like a teammate, so it doesn't stop to ask. You decide what it can reach.

Off until you say so

  • Sending events into a property
  • Changing property settings and creating custom dimensions or metrics

Always

  • Every task runs in its own isolated workspace. Credentials stay outside it.
  • Every tool has a switch. Tools that delete or overwrite start off.
  • Every action it takes is on the audit log, with who asked and what happened.
  • Owners and admins connect tools and choose switches. Members can only look.

Works well with

One ask often crosses tools: a Sentry error becomes a GitHub pull request and a Linear issue. Doozy uses whichever it needs.

Questions people ask before they connect Google Analytics

Does it work with Universal Analytics?
No. Google shut Universal Analytics down; Doozy works with GA4 properties.
What access does it need?
The connected Google account needs at least Viewer access to the GA4 property. Doozy sees the accounts and properties that account can see.
Can it change my Analytics setup?
Not unless an admin turns that on. Changing settings, adding custom definitions and sending events start switched off.
Can Doozy see our Google Analytics credentials?
No. Every task runs in its own isolated workspace, and credentials stay outside it: they're added to each call on its way out. Nothing it reads or writes there can expose a key.
Will it change things in Google Analytics without asking?
It works like a teammate, so it doesn't stop to ask, and you decide what it can reach. Tools that delete or overwrite start switched off, you can switch off any other, and every action it takes is on the audit log with who asked.
Who can connect it?
Owners and admins of your Doozy workspace. Members see what's connected and can't change it. Everyone in your Slack can ask Doozy once it's connected.
What does it cost?
Nothing extra. Every integration is included on every plan, and the 14-day trial needs no card.
