What Doozy can do in YouTube

Doozy reads channel statistics, videos, playlists and captions. Uploading, posting comments and deleting start off. You approve Doozy on Google's own sign-in screen, with no keys to paste, and each tool has a switch in Doozy.

  • Read channel statistics and recent activity
  • List a channel's videos and read their details and stats
  • Query YouTube Analytics for views, watch time and more
  • Read comments and comment threads
  • Read playlists, and list and load caption tracks
  • Search YouTube

Things people ask

In a thread, after @Doozy. It answers in that thread, with what it did.

  • @Doozy how did our last five videos do in their first week? Views and watch time.

  • @Doozy what are people asking in the comments on the latest video?

  • @Doozy pull the captions from this video and draft a blog post from them in a Google Doc.

  • @Doozy every Monday at 9, post last week's views, new subscribers and top video.

How to connect YouTube

No keys to paste: YouTube asks you to approve Doozy, the way it does for any app, and you can revoke that there any time.

  1. 1

Add Doozy to your Slack and open the Integrations page in the web app.

  2. 2

Pick YouTube and click Connect. Google's own sign-in asks you to approve Doozy.

  3. 3

Choose which of its tools Doozy may use, and mention @Doozy in a thread.

What stays off, and what's always true

Doozy works like a teammate, so it doesn't stop to ask. You decide what it can reach.

Off until you say so

  • Uploading or editing videos, thumbnails, captions and playlists
  • Posting, replying to, moderating or deleting comments
  • Subscribing, rating and anything else done in public

Always

  • Every task runs in its own isolated workspace. Credentials stay outside it.
  • Every tool has a switch. Tools that delete or overwrite start off.
  • Every action it takes is on the audit log, with who asked and what happened.
  • Owners and admins connect tools and choose switches. Members can only look.

One ask often crosses tools: a Sentry error becomes a GitHub pull request and a Linear issue. Doozy uses whichever it needs.

Questions people ask before they connect YouTube

Can Doozy upload videos or reply to comments?
Not out of the box. Every YouTube tool that uploads, posts or deletes starts switched off. It reads channels, videos, comments and analytics.
Which channel does it connect?
The channel of the Google account that approved Doozy on Google's sign-in screen. Analytics are for channels that account manages.
Can Doozy see our YouTube credentials?
No. Every task runs in its own isolated workspace, and credentials stay outside it: they're added to each call on its way out. Nothing it reads or writes there can expose a key.
Will it change things in YouTube without asking?
It works like a teammate, so it doesn't stop to ask, and you decide what it can reach. Tools that delete or overwrite start switched off, you can switch off any other, and every action it takes is on the audit log with who asked.
Who can connect it?
Owners and admins of your Doozy workspace. Members see what's connected and can't change it. Everyone in your Slack can ask Doozy once it's connected.
What does it cost?
Nothing extra. Every integration is included on every plan, and the 14-day trial needs no card.
