What Doozy can do in Instagram

Doozy reads your business account's posts, comments, insights and messages. Posting, replying and messaging start off, since they're public. You approve Doozy on Instagram's own sign-in screen, with no keys to paste, and each tool has a switch in Doozy.

  • Read your posts, reels, stories and carousels, with their captions
  • Read the comments and replies on a post
  • Read insights for a post, and your account's reach, profile views and followers
  • See posts where other accounts have tagged you
  • Read your DM conversations and the messages in them

Things people ask

In a thread, after @Doozy. It answers in that thread, with what it did.

  • @Doozy which of last month's reels reached the most people? Top five, with likes and comments.

  • @Doozy pull the comments on yesterday's post that ask about price or sizing, and draft a reply for each.

  • @Doozy put this month's posts and their insights in a Google Sheet.

  • @Doozy every Monday at 9, post last week's Instagram numbers here: reach, profile views and new followers.

How to connect Instagram

No keys to paste: Instagram asks you to approve Doozy, the way it does for any app, and you can revoke that there any time.

  1. 1

Add Doozy to your Slack and open the Integrations page in the web app.

  2. 2

Pick Instagram and click Connect. Instagram's own sign-in asks you to approve Doozy.

  3. 3

Choose which of its tools Doozy may use, and mention @Doozy in a thread.

What stays off, and what's always true

Doozy works like a teammate, so it doesn't stop to ask. You decide what it can reach.

Off until you say so

  • Posting, commenting, replying and sending messages, since all of it is public or goes straight to a customer
  • Deleting comments and turning comments on or off for a post

Always

  • Every task runs in its own isolated workspace. Credentials stay outside it.
  • Every tool has a switch. Tools that delete or overwrite start off.
  • Every action it takes is on the audit log, with who asked and what happened.
  • Owners and admins connect tools and choose switches. Members can only look.

One ask often crosses tools: a Sentry error becomes a GitHub pull request and a Linear issue. Doozy uses whichever it needs.

Questions people ask before they connect Instagram

Does it work with a personal Instagram account?
No. Instagram only opens posts, insights and messages to apps on Business and Creator accounts. You can switch a personal account to a professional one in Instagram's settings at no cost.
Can Doozy post to Instagram or reply to comments?
Not unless an admin switches those tools on. Posting, replying and sending DMs start off because they're public. Until then, Doozy drafts the caption or the reply in the thread for a person to post.
Does it cover Facebook too?
Facebook Pages is a separate integration. Connect both and you can ask about either, or compare them, in the same thread.
Can Doozy see our Instagram credentials?
No. Every task runs in its own isolated workspace, and credentials stay outside it: they're added to each call on its way out. Nothing it reads or writes there can expose a key.
Will it change things in Instagram without asking?
It works like a teammate, so it doesn't stop to ask, and you decide what it can reach. Tools that delete or overwrite start switched off, you can switch off any other, and every action it takes is on the audit log with who asked.
Who can connect it?
Owners and admins of your Doozy workspace. Members see what's connected and can't change it. Everyone in your Slack can ask Doozy once it's connected.
What does it cost?
Nothing extra. Every integration is included on every plan, and the 14-day trial needs no card.
